All these years of teaching the English language online surely make me feel privileged to have been able to pursue this amazing journey taken up by both young and adult learners in learning the language. It is a journey full of challenges, triumphs, and “aha!” moments never to leave my face without a smile. But over time, I came to feel that the real essence of ESL teaching cannot boil down to such a huge amount of lists of vocabulary and grammar rules. It all boils down to an issue of merely creating that very type of environment where the language will grow and flourish on its own.
